BackupScope is an independent WordPress plugin focused on one job done properly: making a complete backup of a WordPress site, proving it is readable, and keeping it safe. BackupScope Pro builds on the same engine with scheduling, off-site copies, one-click restore and tools to understand and clean up storage.
What it is built on
A backup is not done until it is checked
Every backup is read back and verified before it replaces the previous one. A failed backup never pushes out a good one.
Large sites are the normal case
Backups run in small resumable steps, choose their engine by size and export the database without mysqldump, because real sites outgrow one-request backups.
Private by default
The free plugin makes no requests to outside services and collects no data. Backups live in a private folder and need an administrator to download.
Nothing is deleted on a guess
Cleanup in Pro moves items to a trash you can restore from for 30 days. Media review looks for references everywhere before it lists a file.
Your backups stay yours
If a Pro licence lapses, nothing is locked or removed. Your backups remain downloadable and restorable.
Honest limits
No “unlimited” claims. The 5 GB value is an engine threshold, the server’s disk is the real limit, and the docs say so.
